"Family Fun At The Falls"

About a week ago I was lucky enough to join Dennis and Jennifer along with their beautiful daughter at Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, MN for some fun family photos. Although the day was beautiful, it was a bit chilly in the morning when we had our shoot. Everyone was such a trooper and showed their best smiles for me (with a coat break in-between). "A Day to Remember..."

On Saturday, May 2nd it was my honor to watch as Christina and Nick joined their lives as one at the Southview Country Club in West Saint Paul, MN. They had a BEAUTIFUL day for their wedding and we enjoyed all the gorgeous day had to offer. They were wed outside on the patio area with their reception inside following the ceremony. It was a picturesque location and we tried our best to cover as much of it as we could. I hope that you enjoy a few of my favorite shots from their special day.

"The Gift of Family"

Family truly is a wonderful gift and I had a fun time capturing some fun family memories for Julian and Dawn's family early this month. The kids were having a fun time exploring the yard during a couple "action shots" outside and we got a few fun family shots inside as well. They are at such cute ages, I can't believe how quickly time passes. Hope you enjoy a couple pics from our day!

"The Moment May Be Temporary, But the Memory Is Forever"

On Saturday, April 25th it was my pleasure to witness and capture the love and commitment of Tricia and Paul at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen. Even with it being early Spring, we couldn't have asked for a nicer day with a more beautiful location. Their children served as their wedding party as they promised their love to one another. It was truly a beautiful event and I felt honored to be there, enjoy a few of my favorite shots from their day!...

"Oh Amy....

Where do I even begin? I was just about to go to bed when I got your message last night and I spent like 2 hours going through all of the pictures. I couldn't stop! I was speechless at how beautiful they all turned out. I would find one and say "That's my favorite!" and then 2 pictures later, go "No, that's my favorite!". (Erik was doing the same thing this morning!) It was so fun getting to see all the details of the day that I didn't get to see before - like the tables all set up, and the chairs ready to go. (I think it's because I got left downstairs in the laundry room for 30 minutes while Erik was wandering around outside - I really didn't get to see anything before I walked out with Dad! Hee hee hee!) I mean, the picture of the Best Friend sign under our TV stand, and the "I love you" I casually wrote on the
kitchen blackboard (Liz gave it to us as a Christmas present and that's the only thing that has ever been written on it!) - just, wow. I'm starting to cry all over again thinking about it. It was all just perfectly wonderful. And can I say, that picture of me and Brandy right before I walked out? She's been my constant companion through everything, and I'll treasure that captured moment for the rest of my life.

Seriously, the gift you have for capturing the smallest details and the care that you take doing it is truly amazing. Erik and I could not be happier with everything - and there's no other way to say it! You rocked it, lady. Over 95+ heat, and you didn't even skip a beat - you were your absolute wonderful self, knowing exactly what pose you wanted next and coming
up with ideas on the spot. I cannot even tell you how many compliments we received during and after about how creative, professional and fun you were - everyone loved you (which is no surprise at all!)! The road that Erik and I have taken from being teenager best friends to finally being married best friends has been a long and winding one, so to say that June 11th was a big day for us and our families would be a massive understatement. You perfectly captured it all for us, and there is no other way to do justice to how much it meant to us to have you there, except to just say Thank you - so incredibly much. I can't wait to get the CDs and start picking out pictures for our
walls!!!

For now, I'll just say take care, lady!! I hope to see you around the Savage/Bville area soon! :D

"Amy Olson was the photographer at our wedding on April 25, 2009 at the Arboretum in Chaska, Minnesota. We were absolutely impressed with her services. We had our pictures taken before the wedding. We were both nervous and Amy put us at ease and made taking pictures a lot of fun. She started with the two of us and then did family pictures. Amy has a natural way of making it fun and calming at the same time.
Amy is very creative. We were not looking for the normal type of wedding pictures; we wanted them to be different, fun, and natural. She absolutely captured that, while still getting the traditional family pictures.
Our pictures were provided to us on discs in a very short time frame. We are thoroughly happy with how they all turned out. The only problem is that there are so many we like, it is hard to choose which ones we wanted to frame. Amy policy of allowing her clients to have all of the pictures she takes helps with this. We get to keep them all.
Overall, I would say that our experience with Amy was absolutely excellent and I would highly recommend her services. I know we will be calling her when our kid’s graduations come up.
